Everyone should read this one - how brave this woman is for sharing her story.
THIS ENTIRE BOOK IS A LIE AND IS PURE FICTION!SOMALY MAM SEX TRAFFICKING IS A SCAM AND FRAUD.
Incredibly saddened that Somaly Mam's recounting of her history turned out to be untrue.
Amazing Book Couldn't Stop reading A MUST read !!!.
Incredibly heart wrenching, hard to comprehend the feel of no human compassion from those men who abused little girls to no end, & the people who were involved & participated in doing such evil & monstrous acts is beyond my understanding. To those whom commented here that these were just lies....
A beautiful poetic memoir of tragedy and hope that left me in tears and unable to fathom out 'once again why mankind' is so cruel towards his fellow brothers and sisters. I thought many times that but for the Grace of God it could have been my daughter or me who was savaged before being sold into slavery!
This is a horrifying book of the terrible conditions in Cambodia for young children. It's sickening to read about the things they do to girls as young as 6, raping and beating them when they hardly know a thing about the world.
Somaly Mam's story would have been inspiring IF it were true. As recent events demonstrate, she seems to have made most of it up.
Newsweek has recently revealed that everything in this book is in fact a pack of lies. Many interviews were conducted with the people in the author's town, and all of them contradict everything she had to say about herself.
Hirsi Ali has already been exposed as a fraud and a liar, but I know Islamophobia is popular. You are a hero these days if you oppose Muslims and Islam.
The Road of Lost Innocence: The True Story of a Cambodian Heroine was a painful, yet absolutely gripping tale. Somaly Mam's story is a mix of unspeakable tragedy and cruelty, astonishing strength and courage and painfully unfinished.
Amazing book to read, and good insight toward a very difficult topic. It is a quick read, but the subject matter will stick with you long after you finish the book.
This is truly inspirational. What a hard life and so much pain that goes out into the world.
Great Story, A triumph of the human spirit. I would recommend this book to those who like true stories of people with so many cards stacked against them and yet they concur the adversity life brings to them.
It was a book club suggestion. It is excellent but even better if you have people to share the discussion.
