This book is filled with typos and incorrect material. The explanations are brief and provide no help.
This book is average at best. The book contains a considerable amount of typo errors.
I used this resource along with several others to prepare for the Middle Grades Math 5 - 9 test in March of 08. I passed the test and I would recommend the XAM resource as a study guide; however, I would caution you to not use this text alone to study for the test.
I took the FTCE Middle Grades Math 5-9 test and passed my first attempt in March 2008. This was the only book I purchased to review for the test.
The Florida Department of Education's study guide provides a listing of the skills you must know in order to pass the FTCE Middle Grades Math Test. This book covers all of the of those skills and is more specific for the areas that make up a larger % of the test questions (geometry and algebra).
Book is good preparation for exam study, yet there are many careless typos throughout this edition. Book didn't cover pre-calculus, box-whisker, graphing of quadradic equations.
Books looks great w/lots of examples & I'm sure will help as I prepare for SAE. I bought the book for the FTCE & it helped alot.
I have not studied math in over 15 years. This book helped me prepare for my FTCE Test, and I passed.
The only issue that I had with this book as well as one other that I have purchased in the XAM series is that there seems to be a lack of editing. In both books, there seemed to be either typos, extra spaces, etc.
