This book was great and a good read for all ages! I ended up buying the book and gave it to my grandson.
Rolland Love's tale will appeal to young and old readers alike. The setting is perfect for a mystery story and may seem unreal to some but believe me, it really exists.
Strange happenings are taking place in the Ozarks. Doc Barnes and his hound Lucky are missing, The Conner Brothers are strange beyond belief and frightening as heck to kids in the area, and Buzzard Thompson has sure enough killed his whole family with a shotgun.
I didn't want to put it down! Good for young teen readers.
This book kept my attention. I really enjoyed it.
I think I know these two youngsters - they are real true kids. Scaring themselves to death, then becoming heroes when their fears become real.
I look forward to reading other books by this same author; this book was very entertaining. Light reading but at times difficult to put down.
I truly enjoyed this book. Being from the Ozarks myself, I could very well picture the places these characters traveled and also understand why.
Easy to get into and keeps your interest through out the book. Would even be a good book for high school english classeses tho use.
Not deep at all, might be good for a child. Fantasy with a little huck finn thrown in.
This book reminded me a lot of how I spend my youth growing up on a ranch with a lot of places to find adventure. The characters are right on and so is the dialogue.
I love the Ozarks. Love your style of writing.
Enjoyed reading a mystery that had an area I am very familiar with as the setting. Also of an old time era when kids were kids in the country.
I love this author's style. I would describe it as unique and unusual without "trying" to be.
This was a very well written novel. It was fun and scary.
