It is easy to understand and give to students if you are familiar with reading inventories already. I like the student surveys.

The book gives you several different assessment options that you can perform on students. This book is really geared to any student at 5th grade or below, and is really aimed at k-3.
This IRI has reproducable pages used for assessments and this particular copy uses newsprint type paper so the copies are not crisp and clean looking. Pages are also rather thin so with repeated use you will have to exercise care.
I thought the details stated that the book was new, but it was in a good condition, would order again.
This is really helpful for my 3rd grade classroom, where my readers range from pre-emergent up to 6th grade level. There are two leveled passages for each grade level, fiction and nonfiction.
