Very interesting book.
I enjoyed the book thoroughly. Not only is the writing style enjoyable, but it also presents the dynamic of crossing the border.
Perfect.
We are reading this book in my senior ( meaning over 60) Spanish class. English is our primary language.
This novel is hard to put down once you start reading it. It has drama in every chapter.

This book was hard to put down. Written in an easy literary style, manages to describe and make the reader feel for the characters.

You will cry and explore a hard reality. Shows the side of immigration that is difficult, the reason why many leave their families in sacrifice just to find limitations.
This novel was beautifully written and heart wreching. Even though I thought the link between Adelina and Juana was obvious, it was still brilliantly done.
Loved this book! Heard a segment on TV when the author spoke abt her new book-- The Distance Between Us.
