Came very fast. good book, all need to read it.
I bought this book as a gift for my daughter after she saw it advertised on tv and mentioned it to me. She read it as soon as she got it and enjoyed it very much.
Choose this, Randy Lewis is a man who should be all over the news - not these money-hungry, penny-pinching, grubby CEOS. No Greatness without Goodness is poignant, inspiring, challenging, and proof that you can do it all.
Randy Lewis has written compelling book that has three overarching themes: faith, a father's love for his son, and business ethics. Lewis' son Austin was born with cognitive deficits, eventually diagnosed as autism.
This is an amazing, heart warming book from start to finish. A Father's love is so revealed and turned into action to benefit hjs son and countless others with disabilities.
I started reading this right away, and loved it through the first full half of the book, which I had finished in less than a week. The subject is near and dear to my heart, having a son on the spectrum myself, and identifying with the need for employment solutions and a broadening of opportunities for everyone who wants to work.
No Greatness Without Goodness tells the story of former Senior VP Randy Lewis (retired in 2013) who was so moved by his son's future dealing with autism that he integrated disabled workers into the Walgreens distribution centers - quite successfully with sometimes 40 to 50% of the workforce consisting of disabled employees.THIS is the example more corporations need to follow - how to integrate virtually everyone of various abilities into the workforce.
Firstly, the reason I chose this book was because I was always disdainful of Walgreens. I thought it was a big conglomerate, another big store like Walmart.
This book is recommended for everyone is business school, or who works for any corporation. I'm not in business school and I don't work, so I wasn't sure that I could get into the book.
A truly precious and inspiring tale. The telling of it could have been much better though.
This is a great book. I really liked that it's a book from a fathers perspective.
It's a wonderful story, it shows how good folks learned to do what they could with where they found themselves, and then told about it and made it better for all who follow. A single family's story, but way more because of how well they're living it.
This book is should be must-reading for anyone running a company. People come in all shapes, sizes, abilities, and talents.
This is a really inspiring book that challenges many assumptions of modern life. The author demonstrates that individuals can make a powerful difference in the world, and that we can choose to live according to our beliefs.
Very heart-felt and inspirational. I definitely want to share this book with friends and family because it has such an important message about how working together can help everyone be more successful.
