Easy read. Has won awards.
I MUST SAY THAT AT FIRST I WAS CONFUSED BECAUSE THE BOOK JUMPED FROM ONE SCENE TO THE NEXT. BUT LATER I REALIZED HOW MUCH FUN IT WAS.
If you have any interest in Spanish language and/or chicano culture, this is an amazing book!! You will love the crazy fun story, and feel like you're in southern California with the incredibly written Spanglish.
Oh! How wonderful it must be to have your head filled with such amazing adventures and lucious characters.
Don't miss the point that this book bridges English and Espanol.
I read this ten years ago and it remains to this day one of my all-time favorite novels, and what prompted me to write my own. I love the quirkiness of the characters, the bit of underlying magical realism, the vintage clothes and classic car, the uniquely odd friendship, even the design of the book thrilled me.
One of the most fun and interesting books I've read. Superficially, Caramba!
