Hyperbolic equations and frequency interactions

Hyperbolic equations and frequency interactions

by Luis A. Caffarelli
3/5

The research topic for this IAS/PCMS Summer Session was nonlinear wave phenomena.

Mathematicians from the more theoretical areas of PDEs were brought together with those involved in applications.

The goal was to share ideas, knowledge, and perspectives.

The research topic for this Institute for Advanced Study(IAS)/PARK City Mathematics Institute(PCMI) Summer Session was Nonlinear Wave Phenomena, the first major topic not connect with geometry. In this volume, the editors' very outstanding ability and insight to the challenging problems in the field play an active role in forming such idea and goal to bring together those mathematicians from the more theoretical areas of partial differential equations with those involved in applications to exchange ideas, share knowledge and explore perspectives in the field in a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.
