I bought this book in my quest to obtain all of the Biblical Women novels by the late Henderson. I was glad to receive Abigail: A Novel in good condition, and on time.
This is a most interesting account of the life of Abigail, wife of King David. On a personal level, it helped me understand that when things are not going the way I want, perhaps I am short sighted.
Abigail is a young teenager in Hebron. Her love for the fields and making songs do not fit a woman in her culture, but her shepherd father finds ways to allow her both pleasures.
