Wasn't expecting the language or graphic sexual content. It went in the trash a third of the way through.
It is a well-written suspense drama. Good character development.
I had never heard of this writer, just thought I'd take a chance. I'd rate this book 10 stars.
Flanagan created three dimensional and engaging characters, and a plot that moved quickly.I'd really love for him to create some more Ranger or Brotherband books too!.
I read Avalanche Pass first and had to go back and read Storm Peak, the first book involving the main character Jesse Parker. The plot is great and, once you start reading the book, you can't put it down.
This is a serial-killer vs. detectives story in a snow covered popular ski-tourist town.
Book was certainly a page turner. I am a fairly slow reader and managed to finish in a few weeks, which for me is quick, not lots of time to spend at a sitting.
While on a ski trip, this was recommended by a neighbor. It was a fun, serial killer/cop mystery.
A chilling story from one of my favourite Authors about an ex-cop who ends up in a winter wonderland where a serial killer strkes at the whole ski town in revenge for past misdeeds. Jesse Parker shines as the Hero, a man nearly destroyed by the loss of his partner.
This one just wasn't for me. I was bored after about 35 pages, and there were several things I just didn't like, such as the beginning when Jessie accidentally kills his partner, the tension between Jessie and Lee which felt so cliched and standard to any Harlequin romance, and the chapters in the POV of the killer.
