Epic!.
I'm in the middle of the book right now and I find it interesting how Michener blends his characters together in various plots.
This is a fantastic read for anyone interested in the Hawaiian Islands, how they came to be and the people that came to live on them. This was my first James Michener novel and it made me excited to read more of his books.
Although somewhat long with a plethora of characters and spanning generations, it was entertaining and added to my understanding of Hawaii before my first visit there. I would recommend it to anyone who was planning a visit.
A great read if you are going on a trip to Hawaii and want to learn about the history in an intriguing story.
What's not to like about Michener? A fun read especially after returning from a trip there.
Love it.
What a masterpiece, as always from Michener. This goes from A to Z with the history and people of Hawaii.
Great seller/book!.
Hard to get past the first few chapters describing lava flows that create the islands. That said it is worth the work.

I was going to Hawaii and I wanted to read something before I went. I got tired of it after a hundred pages.
I haven't read this book yet, but I always wanted to. I'm sure I will enjoy it.
