A beautiful beginning. Just like Harry, the reader is abruptly thrust into the world of magic like so much coal into a fire!.
Very, very late to the party, I know! For a long, long time I thought this was for kids only, but the years with friends who are in love with Harry Potter taught me different.
Every time I re read this book, I pick up on something different! I really love J K Rowling and how she is somehow seamlessly about to tie things up in the last book that she mentioned in the first few pages of this book!
A great read exciting and full of good and bad times, this was the third time I've read this book and it was just as exciting as the first time, there will no doubt there will be a fourth time and so on. :-).
First read jan 2014 - reread in sept 2015 - reread in July 2016 via audiobook and what a magical experience it was! Harry Potter just keeps getting better and better!
Back then it felt awsome to read this same book, now it just made me smile :).
I'm almost surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this again. It's always nice revisiting old friends without the bitter memories.

Even at the age of 18 I really enjoyed reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone. I can't understand why JKRowling had any problems getting this book published, because it is so cleverly plotted, very well written and has the perfect mixture of suspense, action, comedy and magical wonders.
What can I say more about this very first book of one of the most epic series in the world? It's been the fourth time I've read it and I still have the same feeling.
Great start, nice and short. It doesn't take long for you to get into read and before you know it, you have finished it.
It was good to finally go back and re-read this book. I had forgotten so much of the story and revisit characters that are so important to the story in later books.
