Good for young readers.
I don't really care if they used the plot from Treasure Island, but this is just a poorly-executed work. I didn't care for the characterizations or story much, read it just to get through.
I have read all of the Man Kzin Books and loved them thru MKW 13. But this trash it might have been written by Fox and Friends.
I didn't enjoy this as much as I like most of the Man Kzin stuff. Trying to shoehorn Treasure Island into the Known Universe just was too much of a reach.
I am long time fan of the Man Kzin series. Initially the series was compelling, a conflict between 2 species with vastly different social systems, cultures, and biology, often times told from non-human perspectives.
A ggreat retelling of a classic. They need to produce an audio version of the Know Space series!.
There is even a Kzin "Silver" much like Long John Silver. The Kzin player is the same and yet quite different.
WORSE than his flat ripoff of TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE. WHY do they keep buying stories from this guy?.
Treasure Planet is the latest installment in the Larry Niven's 'Known Space' saga which I love. I went about trying to understand what were all the stories and in which order I should read them.
Treasure PlanetHal Colebatch and Jessica Q. FoxBaen, May 6 2014, $15.
Impressive adaptation of Treasure Island, which I haven't read in a long time, but it has the feel of the story and the setting and the characters. Seems to be a faithful version, though the treasure is more interesting--and I'd love to find out more about that!
Treasure Planet (2013) is a standalone SF novel in the Man-Kzin Wars universe. This volume takes place a couple of decades or more after the Liberation of Wanderland.
Great adaptation of Treasure Island, which I read a long time ago; it has the feel of the story and the characters. It seems to be a faithful version, though the treasure is more interesting; I'd love to find out more about that!
Okay. It isn't really a known space or Man-Kzin Wars story.
I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. I have read all the other Man-Kzin War books and I am a huge fan of the series.
