Very well-written, fun YA adventure. At time the zombies sort of faded into the background of the character-driven plot, but that's a nice change IMO.
Titchenell writes with highly moving and descriptive prose, combining teen issues and angst with classic, though often humorous horror. This is a first person narrative traverses realms that we have never visited (and probably hope never to visit) with resilience, resolve and unwaveringly optimistic enthusiasm.
This is one of those books that will hold on to your heart and not let go until the very end. Zombie apocalypse aside, this a suspenseful novel about friendship, love, and loss.
Ok without being too harsh I did not like this book at all, starting from the first chapter. Now I love a good zombie book.
You know when you read a book about teens and you think the author just didn’t get it? Well, F.
Review courtesy of All Things Urban FantasyCONFESSIONS OF THE VERY FIRST ZOMBIE SLAYER (THAT I KNOW OF) felt very reminiscent of The Walking Dead with slow walking zombies, groups of people battling against each other for resources while a zombie horde threatens humanity’s very existence. Except this story revolves around kids with the random adult side character.

I really liked this book. I loved Cassie's attitude and the way she handled herself.
I was expecting something different and simply more from this book. The synopsis makes it sound like it's Cassie's idea to go across the country to save her friend, but it's not.

This book was a heck of a fun read! I loved how Titchenell created the "very first zombie slayer" scenario...
I liked the plot. It was a good storyline, and I liked the ending.
I really wanted to like this book but atlast I did not. I was bored and turned off by the writing style.
