Love it.
This book gives you a "down-to-earth" insight into the life of a Jazz great and how unconventional it all really is.
Jazz has been a lifelong love of mine, and Dizzy is at the top of the heap! Have always loved his music, and in this book, he gives us a generous lesson on jazz from beginning to end.
What a magnificent book. Dizzy lived the history of Jazz.
Occasionally repetitive but very interesting biography with some really technical musical aspects. My favourite aspect of the book was the racism Dizzy and his band were subjected to throughout their heyday.
