Me Talk Pretty One Day.

"It's a pretty grim world when I can't even feel superior to a toddler." Welcome to the curious mind of David Sedaris, where dogs outrank children, guitars have breasts, and French toddlers unmask the inadequacies of the American male.

Liked the parts about studying French.
Me talk pretty one day was not at all what I expected. I didn't know going in that this was a collection of essays and not a novel.
I just LOVE him. Pretty soon, I'll be done with all of his books and I'll miss him.
Me talk pretty today was a fun short read. I liked it better than 'Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, but I still have this mixed feeling about David Sedaris.
Some of the stories are a little hit or miss in terms of humour, but aside from a couple all of them are engaging and interesting. It's a cute book and David Sedaris has a quick wit and describes things very well.
This is, hands down, one of the most entertaining memoirs I've ever read. Author David Sedaris sets the stage for the challenges he faces in learning to speak French by introducing us to his early experiences with a speech therapist.
A bell? That's fucked up.
Much better than barrel fever, this book of essays is hilarious. his french lessons are the best but the 'day-dream' professions were also a scream.
Funny, short little essays. They're not completely independent, they reference each other a lot, since they're about various events in his life.
>At the end of a miserable day, instead of grieving my virtual nothing, I can always look at my loaded wastepaper basket and tell myself that if I failed, at least I took a few trees down with me.< from Nutcracker.
David Sedaris is absolutely hilarious I always keep his books handy for when I need a good laugh!!.
Just got this book yesterday at Ngurah Rai airport, Bali, when my flight was delayed. I needed an enjoyable distraction and apparently have chosen a right one.
While I do find Sedaris entertaining, I think that I've maybe hit the wall. This most current book (for me) was good - kind bounced around between all facets of his life.
Sigh. I couldn't finish this book.
Hilarious - the self-deprecating humor in this book is like nothing I've ever read. There's really nowhere David Sedaris won't go with these stories, and it makes this collection of short stories/essays read like a page-turner novel.
