This book is awesome in preparing you for the test BUT! the Certification for Flash MX ended December 2005 so this book is out dated.
Wait for the Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Certified Designer Study Guide by James English, it will be out in Nov.The exam has 4 domains; Planning, Visual Design, Experience Design, and Optimization, Pub, Workflow.
We all pretty much agree that the book is rather thin and covers topics in a very minimal and thin way, but after all, we were going to get our free 15 % off on the test. I went to vue.
I just passed the test. well, as mentioned in other reviews, you need more than this book.
This book is full of errors. The "accompanying" web site to which book corrections or errata is published is no longer active.
Hi all, M Sunil a form INDIA seeing the previous reviews i was under impression that this was a blind date. the following were the + and - points + point:This book gives very much information how the exam is conducted sample questions give a great moral support.
I passed the certification, but the information on this book was not enough. I used it as a reference along with the online help and the test outline from the Macromedia site.
I found Christopher Hayes book of good use as a general guide, but it is not by any mean all inclusive. It touched on almost everything, but a bit too lightly in some areas.
If they were misleading in their marketing of the book, then shame on Peachpit Press and Macromedia Press. This book does, however, deliver on what it promises in the Introduction.
Let's look at the facts. Giving a book a bad review because Amazon didn't have the correct information isn't fair.
The book is too short and lacks any real substance. You get as much, if not more information from the online help that comes with Flash MX.
[this book has been]described as being 408 pages when it is actually only 116 pages, quite a BIG difference. This has happened numerous times with books from Macromedia Press.
First off amazon says that this book is 412 pages. Ok I'm very disappointed because the version of the book I got is only 112 pages.
