About Benjamin

A pupil of Louis Hersant, Benjamin Roubaud exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1883 to 1847. He managed to paint landscapes, still-lifes, and genre subjects, all in the style of his master. After a stay in Algeria he painted oriental subjects and signed the paintings with his own name. From 1840, Roubaud moved more towards caricature and signed his drawings Benjamin or with the monogram A. B.
