Ann Burton has again dealt with one of the Bible's important women and show why she is important to todays young women. A heroine in her time but shamed by her family she perseveres and finds an important place in the world of that time.
Deborah's Story was a quick read but I didn't enjoy the story as much as I did Ann Burton's other books. I understand that it is fiction for the most part (like all historical novels) but I didn't like her "background" for Deborah.
I loved this book! I could not put it down so I finished it within just a couple of days.
Easy to read, this beautiful animation of a forgotten historical epoch was transfixing, mind, I think it would be nice if the difference between the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Bible was made, otherwise we surely risk the Koran usurping both.
This used Book was in great condition. Also is a great read!!
Deborah sleeps in the dirt, she is a slave, she is starvedand she is beaten almost every day of her life. Her onlyfamily is the others salves she lives with.
Ann Burton does a great job of writing the story of the early years of the Israeli Prophetess and Judge Deborah.A slave girl beaten and tortured by her Hebrew- hating Canaanite master, Ybyon.
As with the entire series. I truly loved each book.
I loved reading this book. It was fun and easy to read.
As both an author and reader of fiction, I was impressed with (Women of the Bible). Maybe it is because I have always enjoyed a book that could hold my attention and make me think at the same time.
I read this book on a recommendation of a friend. Since I don't usually read Christian books, I was very surprised to find how wonderful this book is.
Ann Burton once again creates a wonderfully exciting story about a woman from the Bible. This time Deborah the prophetic.
Ann Burton has done it again... she wrote a sensitive wonderful book based on a bible story for those of us that love reading fiction and historical romance.
Deborah`s story is highly descriptive and impossible to put down. Each character is brought to life and becomes a reality almost at once…Definitely will recommend this book to my friends and anyone interested in an excellent read!.
Ann Burton has penned a delightful read, very colorful, emotional, and character-driven about Deborah who was born into slavery and at her master's beacon call. She later discovers that her mother died at the hands of her master, but never knew why, only remembers seeing her bloody body left in the mud.
