This enthused and enthusiastic study of four “mad scientist” texts works on two interlocked levels: not only as a series of connected essays on the texts themselves, but also as a primer into what is currently a small movement in interdisciplinary studies, “generative anthropology” (hereafter “GA”). It is GA’s notions of “originary scenarios” that are at once both the most perplexing but intriguing of the book’s endeavors.
