I have found this updated book to be and outstanding source of information and teaching...Thanks again Jesus Loves you all.
Edersheim gives helpful cultural background information to what pilgrims did and saw at each of the religious festivals celebrated by Jews in Jesus day. Our cursory reading of the gospels of Jesus words at some of these festivals without the details of what visual sights were going on-provided by Edersheim-- could cause Bible students to miss the connection of Jesus words about being "the light of the world" and the concept of being the living water in John 7.
I was pretty excited to start reading this book, and while I found the contents really interesting, I do think that the cover was a bit misleading. I took the liberty of mocking up an alternate cover which I think would better convey the contents: Rant mode on.
