I picked up this book quite by chance, and it has become an enduring family favorite (we have 8 children). Little ones can quite easily empathize with Baby Blue Cat's being tempted and eating more cookies than he intended, and it is reassuring to them to see that mommies still love their babies even when they make mistakes.
I bought this book years before my son was born because I was so touched by the loving response the mama cat gave her baby cat when he made a mistake. Now I read it to my little boy and appreciate that he hears a loving attitude towards little ones in a world that seems all too ready to punish small children for their innocent misjugements.
This was my favorite book when I was learning how to read!.
