This book might have been called "Max and His Writers." Because ho boy, did I learn a lot about them.
I have always pictured editors as a necessary cog in the wheel of publishing. Having read a variety of self-edited (or sometimes even not edited at all!
Bibliography about thomas wolfe , who is genius inspired the works of many other authors and also inspired me in different way. he do incredible efforts in writing.
A brilliantly done portrait of a great and gifted man, with all his strengths and weaknesses, and the great authors around him. Honestly, one of the best biographies I've ever read.
I really enjoyed this book. It is several biographies in one - Max Perkins, Fitzgerald, Wolf, Rawlings, Hemingway, and many others.
Haven't had a lot of reading time lately but I was determined to finish this excellent biography. Berg captures the humanity of the legendary editor Perkins as well as the legends he discovered: F.
