Amber Tamblyn

Fan of folk singer Ani Difranco and Avril Lavigne.

Daughter of actor Russ Tamblyn and his third wife, Bonnie Tamblyn.

Amber suffers from arachnophobia. When a scene in "General Hospital" called for her character Emily to pick up her pet tarantula, Amber went to the writers and asked them if they could change the scene. She also suggested that the spider be killed off and Emily be given a rat, the sort of pet Amber herself had at home.

Her dad, Russ Tamblyn danced with her during the 1997 Nurses Ball.

She is the goddaughter of actor Dean Stockwell. Stockwell and her father, Russ Tamblyn , appeared together in the film, The Boy with Green Hair , and in the "Quantum Leap" episode, "Quantum Leap" {Thou Shalt Not... - February 2, 1974 (#2.7)} .

Convinced a homeless man to pose as her father so she could get her navel pierced. It soon became infected and she had to confess to her parents. The story inspired an episode of "Joan of Arcadia" .

Appears in the "Twin Peaks" Special Edition DVD special features. She and her father Russ Tamblyn tell a story about his appearance at a "Twin Peaks" event at which Amber had the cast sign her shoes.

On "General Hospital" , Amber portrayed the adopted granddaughter of "Lila Quartermaine", portrayed by Anna Lee. In the 1950s (long before Ambers birth), Ambers father, Russ Tamblyn , was married to Lees daughter Venetia Stevenson.

Is the second youngest actress to be nominated for an Emmy in the category of Lead Actress in a Series.

Appeared in "The Twilight Zone" {Evergreen } , where the punishment for being a bad seed was to be sent to Arcadia. Her most famous role to date was in the TV show "Joan of Arcadia" as the lead Joan Girardi.

Family friends include Dennis Hopper , David Lynch and Neil Young.

Is best friends with her The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-star Alexis Bledel.

Used hypnosis to get rid of her arachnophobia. She is no longer afraid of spiders.

Traveled with poetry/slam tour "The Junkyard Ghost Revival" in 2008 with poets Anis Mojgani , Derrick Brown and Buddy Wakefield.

She has Scottish, English, and Scots-Irish (Northern Irish) ancestry. Her maternal grandfather was a Scottish immigrant.

Gave birth to her 1st child at age 33, a daughter named Marlow Alice Cross on February 15, 2017. Childs father is her husband, David Cross.

Her daughter Marlowe was born roughly 5 weeks before her close Friend Amanda Seyfrieds daughter who was born March 21st.
