Aliza Gur was born Aliza Gross in Ramat Gan, Israel, in 1944. She was Miss Israel of 1960 in the Miss Universe pageant, placing in the top 15. Her parents had fled Germany during the rise to power of Nazi leader 'Adolf Hitler' . Her parents came to the United States and settled in Cleveland, Ohio, for a time. They passed away in the mid-'70s.
In 1960, as Miss Israel, she placed in the top 15 in the ninth Miss Universe Pageant in Miami Beach, Florida.
As of 2010 she was living in the Los Angeles area.
